Stanyl Diablo OCD2100 is a new thermoplastic proven to provide superior performance in applications like vibration-welded air ducts and charge air cooler end caps found in newer, higher turbo pressure engines. Stanyl Diablo is proven to extend the life of UTH components through its ability to provide outstanding heat resistance and long-term stability for 8,000 hours in temperatures up to 220°C. It’s superior to current polyamides, which often started to lose their mechanical properties when exposed continuously to temperatures above 190°C.
This material is tough, outperforming all current polyamides and PPS grades, with outstanding tensile strength retention and impact resistance for its weight. These unique qualities make Stanyl Diablo perfect for applications such as Air ducts.
Stanyl Diablo enjoys far greater sustained weld strength than competitive materials: This makes it ideal for applications such as two-shell welded air ducts and other injection-molded components. Traditionally, other polyamides and PPS grades begin to crack and break along the weld lines. However, Stanyl Diablo offers weldability and weld strength that provides continuous use at temperatures of up to 220°C, well above the industry benchmark. The result is a safer product with the commercial benefit of, reduced costs and cycle time.
Stanyl Diablo is far easier to process than other high-performance materials like PPS, PPA and PEI. This provides commercial benefits such as reduced cycle times and operational costs.
The material achieves all this without adverse oxidation effects and subsequent deterioration of mechanical properties. Ultimately Stanyl Diablo enables lighter engines with better fuel efficiency for OEMs and car manufacturers as well as the opportunity for lower CO2 emissions - in line with our goal of producing Living Solution that benefit people, profit and planet.
